The Giessen Lab receives a 5 year $1,908,130 MIRA R35 award from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) to study the functions of protein organelles encoded in the genomes of human-associated bacteria.
Giessen lab receives Mcubed seed funding
The Giessen Lab was awarded seed funding through the UM Mcubed mechanism for “Mining the gut microbiome for novel protein organelles involved in host-microbe interactions“. This project is a collaboration between the Giessen, Vecchiarelli and Schmidt labs.
